Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 12, 2026

Welcome to Artisan Copper Handles.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and your purchase of products from Artisan Copper Handles ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing our website, placing an order, or purchasing products from us, you agree to these Terms and to any policies referenced within them, including our Return & Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy.

Please read these Terms carefully before using the website or placing an order.

1. Online Store Terms

By using this website or purchasing from us, you represent that you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.

You may not use our products, website, photographs, designs, or services for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.

You may not transmit viruses, malicious code, or other material intended to interfere with the operation or security of the website.

A violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of access to our website or cancellation of an order where permitted by law.

2. Handmade Products

Artisan Copper Handles specializes in individually handcrafted copper hardware.

Because our products are made and finished by hand, customers should expect subtle variations between individual pieces.

Variations may include differences in:

  • Copper color and tone
  • Patina
  • Texture
  • Sanding patterns
  • Surface markings
  • Finish depth
  • Dimensions
  • Hand-worked details
  • Markings/Stampings or otherwise on the copper as it is a raw material

These characteristics are inherent to handcrafted copper products and are not considered defects.

Product photographs are intended to provide an accurate representation of the general design and finish. However, variations in lighting, photography, computer and mobile displays, natural copper characteristics, and the hand-finishing process may cause the product received to differ slightly from photographs displayed online.

No two handcrafted copper pieces should be expected to be completely identical.

3. Copper Patina, Finish & Aging

Copper is a naturally reactive material, and its appearance can change over time.

Depending on the product selected, hardware may feature raw copper, sanded copper, burnished copper, textured copper, blackened copper, chemically developed patinas, clear protective coatings, or other hand-applied finishes.

Where applicable, a clear lacquer or protective coating may be applied to help preserve the finish.

Protective coatings reduce changes to the surface but do not make copper permanently resistant to normal wear, moisture, cleaning products, environmental exposure, abrasion, or repeated handling.

Over time, copper hardware may naturally develop changes in color, sheen, tone, oxidation, or patina.

These changes are part of the natural character of copper and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Improper cleaning, abrasive products, metal polish, solvents, chemicals, excessive moisture, or other treatments can permanently alter the finish.

Customers are responsible for following the care instructions provided for their products.

4. Product Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications, dimensions, pricing, and other information displayed on our website are accurate.

Because products are handcrafted, stated measurements may include reasonable production tolerances.

Unless otherwise stated on the applicable product page, handcrafted dimensions may vary by approximately ±0.25 inch.

Customers are responsible for reviewing all product dimensions, specifications, mounting information, and finish descriptions before ordering.

For installations requiring exact dimensions or specialized mounting requirements, please contact us before placing an order.

We reserve the right to correct typographical errors, inaccurate information, pricing errors, or omissions and to update product information when necessary.

5. Product Availability

Certain products may be produced in limited quantities or made after an order is placed.

Products, finishes, sizes, materials, and options may be changed or discontinued without notice.

We reserve the right to limit quantities, decline an order, discontinue products, or restrict the sale of certain products where reasonably necessary.

If we are unable to fulfill an order that has already been paid for, we will contact the customer and provide an appropriate refund or other resolution as required by applicable law.

6. Orders

Submission of an order does not necessarily constitute acceptance of that order.

We reserve the right to accept, decline, or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including in cases involving:

  • Pricing or listing errors
  • Suspected fraud
  • Payment issues
  • Product availability
  • Material availability
  • Unusually large quantities
  • Shipping limitations
  • Incorrect customer information
  • Requests we are unable to manufacture safely or reasonably
  • Orders that conflict with these Terms

If we cancel an order after payment has been collected and production has not otherwise created a valid non-refundable obligation, an appropriate refund will be issued.

7. Pricing & Payment

Prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

Prices may change without notice.

The price applicable to an order is generally the price displayed and accepted at the time the order is placed, subject to correction of obvious errors.

Customers agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing, payment, shipping, and account information.

Applicable taxes, shipping charges, or other charges will be displayed during checkout when required.

Payment must be successfully authorized before an order may enter production.

8. Custom, Made-to-Order & Bulk Orders

Custom, made-to-order, modified, and bulk orders are produced specifically for the customer and are final sale.

They are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund except where required by law or where the product arrives damaged, contains a manufacturing defect, or materially differs from the approved specifications.

Custom orders may include:

  • Custom lengths
  • Custom dimensions
  • Custom finishes or patinas
  • Specially requested designs
  • Project-specific modifications
  • Large-quantity orders
  • Designer, builder, or trade orders
  • Products manufactured specifically to customer specifications

Where practical, samples, photographs, or finish references may be provided before larger custom orders so the customer can establish a reasonable expectation of the final appearance.

Samples and photographs are representative. Natural and handcrafted variation may still occur in production hardware.

By approving and placing a custom order, the customer accepts the agreed:

  • Quantity
  • Dimensions
  • Finish
  • Style
  • Design
  • Specifications

Customers are responsible for reviewing these details carefully before approving production.

We are not responsible for errors resulting from incorrect measurements, quantities, dimensions, specifications, or other information supplied or approved by the customer.

9. Order Changes & Cancellations

Because many products are handcrafted or made to order, production may begin shortly after an order is received.

Requests to modify or cancel an order should be submitted as soon as possible.

Changes and cancellations are not guaranteed after production has begun, materials have been ordered, copper has been cut or finished, or custom work has otherwise commenced.

Custom, made-to-order, and bulk orders may become non-refundable once production begins.

Where an order can reasonably be modified, additional charges and production time may apply.

10. Returns & Refunds

Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, all sales are final, except where otherwise expressly stated or required by applicable law.

Custom, made-to-order, modified, and bulk orders are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.

Exceptions may apply when a product:

  • Arrives damaged
  • Is materially different from the product ordered
  • Does not conform to approved custom specifications

Natural variation in copper color, tone, patina, sanding, texture, handcrafted dimensions, or finish is not considered a defect.

Please refer to our Return & Refund Policy for complete details.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to eliminate any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.

11. Shipping & Delivery

Processing or production time and shipping transit time are separate.

Made-to-order products may require production time before shipment.

Any estimated production, shipping, or delivery dates are provided in good faith based on the information reasonably available at the time.

Carrier delivery estimates may be affected by weather, transportation delays, holidays, service disruptions, or other circumstances outside our control.

If we become aware that an order cannot be shipped within the timeframe originally represented, we will communicate with the customer and provide the options required under applicable law.

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address.

Additional costs resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the customer may be the customer's responsibility where permitted.

12. Shipping Damage

Customers should inspect orders promptly upon delivery.

If an order appears to have been damaged during shipment, please retain:

  • The product
  • Original shipping packaging
  • Shipping labels
  • Protective materials

Photographs of the damaged product and packaging may be required to evaluate a claim.

Customers should contact us promptly after discovering shipping damage so that we can evaluate the issue and, where appropriate, work with the carrier toward a resolution.

13. Installation

Customers and installers are responsible for verifying product dimensions, placement, mounting locations, cabinet construction, fastener requirements, and compatibility before drilling or installation.

Unless specifically stated on the product page, mounting screws used to attach the brackets to cabinetry, furniture, drawers, or other surfaces are not included.

The appropriate screw diameter, length, and type depend upon the material and thickness of the mounting surface.

We generally recommend appropriately sized #8 or #10 fasteners, but customers should verify the correct fastener for their particular installation.

When necessary, consult a qualified cabinetmaker, installer, contractor, or hardware professional.

Artisan Copper Handles is not responsible for damage resulting from:

  • Incorrect measurements
  • Incorrect drilling
  • Improper installation
  • Improper fasteners
  • Over-tightening
  • Unsupported mounting
  • Modification of the hardware
  • Installation on an unsuitable surface
  • Misuse of the product

Always verify dimensions before drilling permanent mounting holes.

14. Care & Maintenance

Customers are responsible for properly caring for their hardware.

Unless otherwise instructed for a particular finish:

  • Clean using a soft, damp cloth
  • Dry after cleaning
  • Avoid abrasive pads or cleaners
  • Avoid harsh chemicals and solvents
  • Avoid metal polish on patinated or lacquered finishes
  • Avoid copper cleaners unless intentionally altering the finish
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive moisture or standing water

Damage or finish changes caused by improper cleaning, chemicals, abrasives, polishing compounds, installation, or misuse are not considered manufacturing defects.

The current version will be posted on this website with an updated revision date.

Changes apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.
